The Regions Party is treating the process of forming the parliamentary coalition at the Ukrainian parliament formally, because not all partners are ready for it. The statement was made today by former prime minister Viktor Yanukovich, reports a REGNUM correspondent.
“Anyway, parliamentary and non-parliamentary opposition will be formed in Ukraine. However, one can state it surely, the Regions Party will follow the amendments proposed by Yulia Timoshenko’s government to the budget 2008. If they are not meant to be in favor of the Ukrainian people, we shall be defending our position toughly and protect rights of the people,” Yanukovich particularly said. Answering a question how long will Timoshenko’s government be in power, the former prime minister noted: “It is a bad practice to reshuffle the government often. I have never been envious and I am not now to the government, because it will have hard times working in such conditions, with the current balance of forces at the Ukrainian Supreme Rada.”
