Borehole drilling in the Sea of Azov in Southern Russia has resulted in success, a representative of LUKoil company has told the media. LUKoil was searching for petroleum on the bottom of the Azov jointly with Rosneft and the first drilling has brought gas-oil mixture.
Another drilling is currently being made for further industrial tests. Results of the research will be made known already this November. The reserve is estimated to have about 5 mln. tons of fuel. Specialists predict that the Azov shelf can have a reserve of 50 mln. tons of oil and gas.
