As have informed in the ministry of power of Georgia, input in build new thermal power station of the combined cycle is a part of the state program on preparation of the Georgian power supply system for scheduled stop InguriHPS (for carrying out of repair and preventive works). According to the ministry, stop Inguri HPS becomes possible only after the termination of rehabilitation works on 3rd hydrounit of Inguri HPS which are carried out by the German consortium «Voith Siemens Hydro». It is supposed, that stop of InguriHPS can be carried out already within the next few days and that rehabilitation works on it will be prolonged up to the middle of July. Tomorrow, on July, 24th, Nika Gilauri it is measured to meet management of InguriHPS, and also with power engineering specialists of Abkhazia (also receiving the electric power with InguriHPS) for the coordination of all questions connected with a scheduled stop of this hydroelectric power station, have noted in the ministry. According to the ministry, deficiency of the electric power, which is formed in a power supply system as a result of scheduled stop of InguriHPS (approximately 300–400 ÌÂò), it is planned to cover due to the electric power developed by 9-th power unit of the «Matkvari power» (250 — 270 ÌÂò), with 3-it and 4-th power units TbilGrEs (accordingly, 130 and 120 ÌÂò), new gas-turbine power station in Gardabani, a number of other HYDROELECTRIC POWER STATIONS, and also imported of neighbouring countries. After stop of InguriHPS the power supply system of the country during two-three weeks will practically work without reserves — up to increase in development of the electric power at a number of HYDROELECTRIC POWER STATION of Georgia in connection with the beginning of thawing of snows and increase of a level of the rivers. In the ministry have noted, that for purchase of natural gas for maintenance of work of stations the government of the country has allocated 30 million chests ($16,4 million) . This measure will allow providing development approximately up to 500 ÌÂò the electric power. The civil-engineering design in Gardabani (East Georgia) new gas-turbine power stations is carried out by the company «Energy invest» with use of means «Vneshtorgbank» and bank service of «Incorporated Georgian bank». Within the limits of the project in Gardabani in the middle of January installation of two gast-turbines by capacity 55 ÌÂò everyone has been made. About one today both gas-turbines worked in a mode of testing. The Rated gas-turbine power at the given stage (in the further it is planned to raise) makes power stations 110 ÌÂò; term of its operation — 25 years. The volume of capital investments in this project has exceeded 60 million US dollars. The project of rehabilitation of 3-rd hydrounit Inguri of HYDROELECTRIC POWER STATION is carried out with support of the grant of Eurocommission at a rate of 5 million euro.
