Russian Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov has been approved for the position of Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Union State of Belarus and Russia. On 19 October in Minsk Zubkov will hold a meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Union State.
At the Union’s Council of Ministers’ meeting the performance results of the union budget’s will be considered in both the development of trade and economic cooperation in the first half of 2007 and in the course of preparing the Union’s draft budget for 2008, the revenue part of which is planned to be more than 4 billion Russian rubles.
The preliminary results of implementing a program of concerted action in the field of foreign policy for 2006-2007, the activity of the regional grouping of Belarusian and Russian troops, an anti-crime program, and the draft of a program on securing the external borders of the Union State for 2007-2011 will all be discussed.
